Becky G (Rebbeca Gomez) was born on 2 March, 1997 in Inglewood, California area. She is an American rapper, songwriter and singer. She started her career in 2011, by posting several videos on the YouTube. Those videos soon become very popular. In 2014 she entered on Billboard Hot 100 with ‘’Shower’’. Rebbeca spent her early childhood in Moreno Valley, where she lived with her Spanish-Mexican family. When she was 9 years old, her parents had to sell the house and move into her grandparents’ house. They lived in a converted garage! Her parents are Alejandra and Frank Gomez.
Because her family had money problems, young Becky wanted to earn money. She started singing and doing commercials and voice –overs. Becky was a member of two girl bands; G.L.A.M. produced by Andrew Lane a platinum producer and B.C.G. Recently, Becky announced that her idols were; Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera and Selena.
Becky’s first videos on YouTube were very popular. In 2011 they caught attention of Dr. Luke a veteran song-writer. With his help, she signed a contract to Sony Music Entertainment. In 2012 Becky released song "Turn the Music Up". This song was released through YouTube. Cher Lloyd a British singer, released "Oath". It was featured and written by Becky! This song was sold in more than 140.000 copies, in the US. On Billboard Hot 100, it was on 73rd place.
Becky released ‘’Problem’’, which was remixed into "Problem (The Monster Remix)". It was used in the movie Hotel Transylvania, by Sony Pictures Animation. Rebecca won "Best New Artist" at Radio Disney Music Awards in 2014. This year she was nominated for a Radio Disney Music Award.
